Bam! Wham! Kapow!

Bernhard Willhelm, Jean Paul Gaultier, and John Galliano for Christian Dior

All the superheroes (fictional and designer) are at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Met), and it makes for quite a meeting of the minds.

When you look at this mannequin, he morphs between Clark Kent and Superman.

This exhibit is not to be missed so get in your bat mobile or invisible plane, and head on over!

The Met carries great merchandise connected with this exhibit. A selection from the shop at the Met is below:

There are additional items (not sold online) that you should check out after you see the exhibit: assorted sterling silver and enamel necklaces and great cuffs. If I were buying the cuffs, I would get two (in two different colors to wear on each wrist a la Wonder Woman). Unfortunately, my wrists are too small for the colorful cuffs.

Is Bobby Short Wrong Too?

In response to My Favorite Love Song, my husband and friend, L, strongly felt that "You're the Top" is not a love song. To that I responded, "Well then, what kind of song is it"?

They weren't sure, but still maintained that "You're the Top" is not a love song. So I went to my friend, Google who sent me to his friend, Amazon.com, and Amazon showed me the above image. Is Bobby Short mistaken too?

Jeff Koons at the Met

This summer, the work of Jeff Koons is featured in the Roof Garden of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Met). The views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline from the roof are breathtaking. The three sculptures on the roof are from his Celebration series which he began in 1993.

The first sculpture you see when you enter the roof garden is the balloon dog which takes you back to your childhood when you took delight in watching performers make toy dogs and other animals out of balloons.

Balloon Dog (Yellow), 1994-2000. High Chromium Stainless Steel with Transparent Color Coating.

The second sculpture is a gift-wrapped heart, and this has a very fantastic and romantic feel to it.

Sacred Heart (Red/Gold), 1994-2007. High Chromium Stainless Steel with Transparent Color Coating.

The third and final sculpture looks like scribbles, but it is actually Piglet (Pooh's BFF) from a coloring book, colored in by Koon's with a marker with the removal of Piglet from the composition. At first, you think you can see through this sculpture, but you later realize the surface is reflective

Coloring Book, 1997-2005. High Chromium Stainless Steel with Transparent Color Coating.

A reflection of the three sculptures in the Met's windows

You should definitely visit the Met to see this exhibit; it is whimsical and amusing!

I Heart Tom Binns

Besides the fact that his jewelry is exquisite and mischievous, I realize now why I heart Tom Binns; he collaborated on "Punk Couture" with Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McClaren, and I heart them.

In the window of Henri Bendel is, in my opinion, Tom Binns' greatest jewelry collection.

This is a "Quite Nice Necklace"!

Another eye-catcher!

I'd sure like to rock out with this!

I've never seen such gorgeous "Chaos". I hope Maxwell Smart doesn't spy this prize!

Anyone who wears this necklace will be a "Rocker"!

These feathers are fantastic!

This necklace makes me yearn for yellow!

On the third floor of Henri Bendel is the Tom Binns collection that is for sale. Don't get me wrong, it's still pretty fabulous, but it's not as Fanciful and Flamboyant.

Very Cool Safety Pin Bracelet and Glamorous Gold and Silver Bejeweled Cuff

You should check out Tom's website because there are many pieces of stunning jewelry to enjoy.

I have always loved seashells, and the search for them. Their beauty, uniqueness, and memories connected to them make them very special. I collect them while on vacation, and I even sometimes buy them. I like to wear them, and put them all over the A.P.T.
