What his Dad Gave Him
You have to get over to Rockefeller Center to check this out! Chris Burden made a 65 foot tall Rockefeller Center out of nickel-finished stainless steel replica Erector set pieces. It was assembled over the past year by Mr. Burden and his assistants near Los Angeles. The sculpture came by truck in a few pieces, and the pieces were connected upon their arrival at Rockefeller Center. It will be there until July 19th.
I am working my way towards the miniRockefeller Center (miniRock) from the other side of the street.
This is a close-up view; you can only imagine how many pieces this took to build!
I am now behind the miniRock, looking at Saks Fifth Avenue.
Interesting fact: Chris Burden's father was an engineer who once worked at Rockefeller Center.
U r 24K!
xoxo,
Krom
