Hey, Good Looking

Salvatore Ferragamo
Briana Structured Leather Tote, $1,350.00
Made in Italy

Click Image for Details or Procurement

This handbag was calling my name. It was love at first sight...

Considering the size of the bag and quality, the price is very fair. These days most are made in China, and are priced similarly. It's nice to know there are still companies that care about craftsmanship, fair wages, and decent working conditions.

Capitalism doesn't have to preclude Altruism.

Dear Kromstyle,

The color is not right in the photo..it is very vibrant beautiful electric blue. Anyway for a special dinner at Pelago (chicago) sat I am thinking gun metal color sandals. Don't have them. Help Kromstyle what are the options with such a vibrant color? What are your thoughts on shoe/bag pairings with very vibrant colors?
Love, your biggest fan

Dear Biggest Fan,

You're on the right track; gun metal could definitely work, but my first instinct was flesh color. Love the dress, btw.

But sometimes, cool supersedes color.

And other times, something not considered can work too.

If your shoes are neutral, as all of the above are, you can have fun with the bag. Go Sunflower Yellow, Fire Engine Red or Purple (these colors would look great in shiny, crinkly patent)!

Enjoy your night out!

Buying Good is Doing Good

It takes the women of the Wayuu tribe of Colombia and Venezuela up to a month to weave a susu woven bag, working eight hours a day, every day.

Buying the susus directly from the Wayuu Taya Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps improve the lives of Latin American indigenous communities while maintaining and respecting their traditions, culture and beliefs, seems like the most shrewd and socially aware thing to do. The proceeds from the sale of all the items in its online gift shop go to benefiting the Wayuu people. The bags are made at Shukumajaya, the foundation's women's center where women are educated on parenting and nutrition, family planning and hygiene. All bags are one-of-a-kind.

J. Crew sells the bags for $175 at its Madison Avenue store in Manhattan, 1035 Madison Avenue; SURevolution is selling the bags for $430 at its Bridgehampton shop, 2462 Main Street, 631. 613. 6565; the Wayuu Taya Foundation is selling the bags for $140. You do the math.

Receiving can be as beautiful as Giving.

The Always Anticipated Hermes Sale

What
the Hermès Spring Sale
Handbags, Accessories, and Ready-to-Wear Items
Up to 60 percent off

When
March 24th through March 28th
212-463-0200, Call for hours.

Where
Metropolitan Pavilion
123 W. 18th Street (near Sixth Avenue)

You won't find me here. While Hermes produces breathtaking things, the lines for the sale are ridiculous. I did get a pair of beautiful golden sandals last year, but I was with someone who is able to talk their way into anything. For the plebeians, the wait can be a few hours. If you have a lot of time on your hands, check this one out. But be warned, 60% off a lot can still be a lot.
