One of my readers, Barbara, suggests Kenneth Cole's dress as an alternative to "the Derek Lam Dress". In the image above, the dress appears to have a lot going for it, but because the dress is relatively inexpensive, the feel and durability of the fabric need to be inspected in person. I would also examine the neckline and shoulders carefully to make sure they fit properly and don't look cheap.
